We went to Paris for Nicolas's surprise birthday party. It was technically just outside of Paris. Unfortunately, the surprise element was lost when Nicolas saw people he knew arriving.
The hall where it was held was a bit strange. Each room seemed to have a separate event. It made for rather noisy hallways and strange restroom mates since each event had it's level of dress. Obviously, this was one of the more casual celebrations but there were some fancy wedding receptions going on too.
The weather was nice and luckily, you couldn't hear the other events from the room, only in the hall.

My kids are of similar age to Samantha and Nicolas' second cousins on his dad's side. They're a nice family and by coincidence, the cousin is also married to a woman from Alsace.
