Davina's class trip to Mt. St. Odile

Davina's class took their annual field trip and as usual, I volunteered to go along. Last year it was the zoo but this time, they stayed in France, going hiking in the Vosges mountains.

First we went there by bus. The kids had their snack as soon as they arrived.

Then we took off.

It's a former convent so there are stations of the cross.

Taking a break.

Finally! Lunchtime.

After lunch, they went to play on the grass and then sang songs until we left.

It's a very beautiful spot. The weather wasn't perfect but it did cooperate. The only problem is that is was just far too long a hike for this age group. We were walking about 2 1/2 hours straight and most of the children are ages 3-6. I'm going to recommend that they go back to the zoo next year!
