I'm a Californian, living in France since 1996, in Alsace since 1999. This originally was a general blog about our family but when I couldn't post pictures, I abandoned it. Now I'm reviving it to recount my Cancer Journey. I was diagnosed on Oct. 22nd, 2013 on a routine check for Breast Cancer.
(2005-2007 covered in http://calgirlinalsace.blogspot.com)
One of our first days in California, we went to visit Tata Guk at work. I took these photos because it was probably the last visit to that building. It's been sold and they're probably moving to the South of Market area.
Talia first decided to celebrate her birthday at Le Vaisseau;

It was a tough weekend as it fell on Hannukah so everyone had their parties and gatherings. It was also the last weekend before Sundays open. People like to schedule things on the last closed Sunday.
We had three cancellations but our hands were full with the seven children who did come.
Everyone thought the cake was cute, but not too cute to eat!
At the end, someone says "C'est un chien" or "It's a dog". Wrong! It's definitely a bunny...
Then off directly to the Hannukah party where Ronnie gave a little performance with his Talmut Torah buddies (Hebrew school);
This is Yaëlle, their teacher;
Thomas played the clarinet;
Then we lit the candles;
Ronnie makes sure that Davina isn't left out;
Two stories were read, a Sepharad story from Morocco and a Askanezi one from Russia.
Then they opened a little present each. A very generous member bought presents for all the children. I didn't take any pictures unfortunately.
We came home to more presents. Talia opened those from the party (I don't have them open the presents on purpose because the kids would rather play at the science museum).
Pet Shop toys from Zoë (because we need more!)
A Polly Pocket from Pauline (we actually do need more because the heads fell off several that we have).
Barbie purfume and a scarf from Kenza;
"Steffi" doll (kind of like Barbie) car from Sarah & Thomas (Ronnie's friends from Talmud Torah so he posed too);
I didn't manage a picture of Sara and Eric's present, some stickers and a purse.
Quick dinner, shower and off to bed, more or less on time!
