So go over there and look at the pictures. We had great weather, but transport was a small issue. I took the kids into Barcelona two days, a much bigger trip than expected. It wasn't easy but we had fun. I made the mistake of renting a car the last day. I will never, never own a Opal. It wasn't a junker but it was awkward and uncomfortable to drive. The roads were winding and the kids with me, so that made me a little more nervous...
Bad news from home. We're thinking of Agnes and her daughter. Mother took Aggie to the oncologist and it wasn't good news. Luckily, everyone's rallying around her. She has a lot of friends.
We're having this unusally good weather right now. About three years ago, our heat and hot water went out in the apartment. It was April and we froze. It was a long three weeks. If only we had had weather like this! Our heat is shut off. Of course, we're a little nervous about the summer of 2003 coming back again. If you recall, a lot of people died in that, including my doctor's mother in Paris. France doesn't handle heat well. Few private homes are air conditioned (public buildings often but not always) and they simply can't cope. We're enjoying the weather while it lasts but we realize we might have a long, hot summer in front of us.
