Here is my parents politically correct, religiously neutral Winter Holiday Tree;


Mother's Jingle Bears collection, which waited for grandchildren for years...

Marshall's Dicken's Village. It didn't go up for years for fear of toddler hands but in sight of Davina's 5th birthday, they finally felt safe to bring it out in the light. It also has a train, which will complete the display for next year (that, they were still nervous about...)

Christmas morning. Can you believe they cooperated for this photo with all that loot behind them??

Here are the kazoos which they delightedly told me were going back to France. No one warned me about them in advance. They were my little Xmas surprises too!


Then we got back and made our annual pilgrimage to Sacramento. This year, the party was at Carleen and Jeff's place.



The kids were then introduced to Evan's pet rat "Frankie". We had a quick lesson on rat-holding (like how to not squeeze the middle) and the kids loved her. Even my rodent-hating mother had to admit she was kind of cute;
