Jill and Peter Zak used to live in Fegersheim. Our sons are 6 months apart and when they moved back to England, Jill was pregnant and Talia was still a baby. It was fun to see each other's "complete" families including a third one each.
They stayed in Saasenheim, a bit futher south than Benfeld, in a gîte (sort of like a vacation rental home).
Peter called to make arrangements to meet. "Okay, what ages children do we have altogher?" so we did a quick review. Neither family has a seven year old but Nicky is 3, Davina 4, Rosie 5, Talia 6, Ronnie 8 and Steffie 9. "Should be a relaxing, calm meal..." he quipped in that dead-pan British way.
We had lunch in Benfeld that Sunday and went to the "Poney Ranch", which is kind of a kid amusement park, near Boofzheim (yes, it's really the name).
The cart ride!

The poney rides!

Jill bringing back Nicky;

The trampolines!
Rosie's turn;
The swings!

A peacock showing off;

The next day, we went to Europapark, which we think beats Disney, especially for little kids. While it was freezing cold (snowing when we got out of the car) the advantage was that there were no lines for anything. We were able to hit all the attractions one after another...

Car ride;

Robot walking around, kind of scaring the little kids but then we thought he was funny;

On the airplane ride;

The cars;

The Merry-Go-Round;

Steff busted;

Ronnie busted;

Talia busted;

and Rosie busted (didn't manage it with the two little ones);

A quick trip to Africa (although a lot colder than when I was there!);

The padding ride;

Another "little kids" ride;

We all went up the tower, to see the view, which is very pretty of both the Vosges and the Black Forest, on a clear day. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case...
