I'm trying to avoid taking my kids to the circus. It just doesn't look like a very nice one. We have visitors in town and the circus doesn't seem to be too high class. I did take the kids over to look at the animals.

This was a really tiny pony. I wasn't fast enough to get this great shot of a bunch of kids, including my own, petting him and then they took him away. All I got was this shot;

Earlier that day, we did a "gouté" or afternoon snack for some visiting children from Baden-Baden. Ronnie's class has a sort of twin program with a class over the border. Coincidently, my great-grandmother was from and Ronnie's class is going to stay there next month for a couple of nights.
I actually posted pictures of going there in September 2005;

I thought it was also a bilingual program but the Baden teachers said no, only two hours of French a week they get so our kids were really the ones to benefit since they're getting 13 hours of German a week.
The Baden kids kept speaking to me in German. I had to ask Ronnie in English what they were saying so it was a bit of a melange. I think they were surprised to see that none of us mothers spoke German. I did point out a few of the Alsatian and German speaking children. Moamed has a German mother. Guillaume and Martin speak Alsatian, etc. The teachers were impressed with our children's German, although they said they have a French accent.
It also gave me the opportunity to get some use out of my brand new Casio camera. I experimented with different settings;

Each child was paired so Ronnie's buddy is a boy named Christian who has a dog and a little brother.
