I know, Carnivale AFTER Easter. Gotta love it. Hey, I wasn't complaining. At least this year it didn't get rained out like last year. Besides, London has it's Notting Hill festival in August. They say outright they do it then just as a reminder of Carnivale in the Caribbean.
This is more Germanic-like than S. American or Caribbean. This way, they don't compete with all the parades held on the "real" Carnivale over the border.
I promised the kids cotton candy. Look at Talia's face. Are we in trouble later on??

messy!

Finally, the parade...

This is a caracture of the Alsatian costume;

The confetti was a mess! I still have some in my car;

As a former Drum Corps person, some of the bands, quite frankly, were painful to watch. I hate to be snob...

The kids loved this one!

Not sure if this one would be allowed back home in the States;

We actually didn't wait for the end. Apparently there was a float for Sarkozy and it was the first thing Daniel asked about when we got home. There were 45 entries!
