Everything was going smoothly. We woke up early on Sunday to drive up to Besançon (we were lucky it happened to be only a couple of hours from Geneva).
Daniel couldn't start the car. Well the valet guys couldn't and then he couldn't and then we were all panicking when the repair people said it would take 1 1/2 hours to get to us...
Finally, with nonstop fiddling, Daniel managed to get the car to turn on. It's a hybrid so it's kind of special and our first. We just took off, sometimes doing 190km on the way.
It was a beautiful drive but no time for photos. We actually made it with a half hour to spare and I did see some of the competition.
Here are the girls ready to start;
Not sure who filmed this but it's on YouTube!
Laurence, the coach, having a chat with them afterwards. She was very pleased.
The crowd is actually three categories all competing the same morning. The other two groups were older (I think they do that on purpose) so not all the girls were competing against them. There were 30 teams though in their category. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEMsTzcL2U0&feature=related
...and the ones who came in second;
