I got my first speeding ticket! I was "flashed" on a freeway onramp. Now, I have a little trouble with this. I mean, obviously I was in the process of slowing down. There was a yield and right turn in just a few hundred feet. Okay, I wasn't at 70km at the sign...
No warning. It just arrived in the mail.
I can see getting ticketed for doing 50km in a 30 zone but a freeway offramp? I mean, is that really going to cut down speeding in general? Easy way to nab people. I mean, 43 year old housewives are really the menaces on the road, right? Between school and soccar, we're really burning the rubber! Forget putting up a speed trap at 2am on the autoroute. Let's put one somewhere that people are slowing down anyway. Not really going to make the streets safer, if you see what I mean!
So I think I'll lose two points out of 12. I'll only have 10. The problem is...I think they nabbed me again at the same spot! I just get to wait for the letter...

Bingo! I had an incident very similar to yours. Last Saturday I got the first traffic violation of my life by not stopping for 3 seconds at a stop sign. I'm pretty positive that I did stop, but unfortunately it wasn't long enough for my friends in blue. Plus, it wasn't a dangerous situation. I totally agree with you that by giving tickets to honest citizens who aren't creating dangerous situations is rather silly when you consider all of the other dangerous situations that we see on the road everyday. Where are the policemen then? I guess it's too easy to get the housewives on their way to go shopping at 9am than it is to get the drunks on the road at midnight. And I lost 4 points for this. Unbelievable!!! We're just easy bait for their quotas. The whole thing just makes me mad.
